Karen Tysinger, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Tysinger graduated from North Carolina State University in 1993 with a BS in Zoology and was awarded her DVM from NCSU in 1998. She joined Countryside Pet Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2002.
Dr. Tysinger's medical interests include cytology and pathology but she also looks forward to the variety of medical and surgical patients she sees every day at Countryside.
Outside of work, she enjoys walking the trails and paths around town or in the mountains, serving in various capacities at her church, being the biggest supporter of her teenage daughter in her ballet pursuits, gardening with her husband John, cuddling up with a good book, and taking trips to Raleigh to spend time with her two grown sons, their wives, and her two precious granddaughters.
At home she has an elderly dog, Nutmeg, and 3 cats- Sunny, Zeera, and Tulip.
